The act of ending something, especially a job, contract, or agreement.
“The letter explained the reasons behind the termination of her employment contract.”
“Please review the attached document regarding the termination of the lease agreement.”
In Reading Part 1, formal letters about employment often use 'termination' when discussing the end of a work contract. Watch for it in questions asking about the purpose of a letter, such as a termination notice, or what action the writer is taking. Don't confuse it with 'resignation', which means the employee is choosing to leave.
