In CELPIP Speaking Task 7, using 'acknowledge' shows the rater you can consider both sides of an issue before defending your own opinion, a mark of higher-level speaking. Use it in a sentence like 'I acknowledge that some people disagree, but...' right before you pivot back to your main argument. This balanced approach often scores better than a one-sided response.
