Getting Started: Test Overview & Self-Check

The CELPIP Listening test measures your ability to understand spoken English in realistic, everyday Canadian situations. It does not test your ability to understand academic lectures, formal speeches, or specialized professional language.

The Test Interface: What You Will See and Hear

The CELPIP Listening test is delivered through a computer workstation at an authorized test centre. You will wear over-ear headphones connected to the workstation — these headphones are the only way you will hear the audio, and the volume cannot be changed once the test begins.
