Used to introduce a prediction or opinion that comes directly from visual evidence in front of you.
“Based on what I can see, the store is about to close for the day.”
“Based on what I can see, the two friends are going to start arguing.”
This phrase is extremely useful in Task 4 because it explicitly ties your prediction to the picture, which is exactly what the task requires. Start a sentence with it before giving your main prediction, e.g., 'Based on what I can see, the man will probably lose his balance.' Using this phrase early in your response shows the examiner that your predictions are grounded in evidence, not random guesses.
