In Task 8, 'substantial' is useful for describing the weight or bulk of an object when 'big' feels too plain, especially if the item looks heavy or solidly built. Use it with weight or size, as in 'it has a substantial weight to it.' This word also works well across other CELPIP speaking tasks, so it's worth practicing.
