“The object is similar to a regular umbrella, except the handle curves in a strange way.”
“Its texture is similar to rubber, but it feels colder to the touch.”
Use 'similar to' in Task 8 when comparing the mysterious object to something ordinary the listener would recognize, since your listener can't see the picture. Keep the comparison simple and add one clear difference afterward to sound more precise, for example 'it's similar to a whisk, but the handle is much thicker.'
